There are many benefits of massage, some of which are: stress reduction,
relaxation of tense muscles, decreased chronic pain, ease of restriction in
joints, posture, increased blood circulation, improved nerve function,
improved sleep, improved skin tone, increased lymphatic function, reduced
anxiety, and a feeling of well being.

| How will a massage feel? |

Massage on normal tissue is almost always a pleasant sensation. In the area of an
injury or chronic pain, it may at first cause some discomfort. Your massage
therapist will work carefully within what feels right to you. Always tell your
massage therapist if the pressure is too deep, or not firm enough.

| Is a massage always appropriate? |
|
There are times and conditions when massage is not appropriate. Always inform your
massage therapist of any medical problems past or present, even minor ones. Also,
inform your primary health care practitioner that you are going to receive massage.
Some conditions might require close communication between your massage therapist and
health practitioner.

You can discuss with your massage therapist any issues you would like to resolve.
Together you can work out a plan to meet your goal, or you massage therapist can
let you know if massage is not the right treatment plan.

This depends on your particular insurance coverage. You can call your insurance to
find out. Many times, you will need a doctor's prescription.

| What kind of training does my massage therapist have? |
|
Florida massage therapists have extensive training that includes massage, anatomy
and physiology, and knowledge of medical conditions that would contraindicate
massage. After passing the National Boards Exam, they are licensed by the Florida
Board of Health.
